My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at Sugarbird! The room was exceptional, it was reasonably priced and it was just beautiful. we woke up to the sound of birds (and not passing cars) and it was so peaceful! Being South African citizens it is usually not affordable for us to stay at such nice places, but Sugarbird catered for us as well and therefore we will surely return!

Sugarbird Manor is a beautiful guesthouse set in the most awesome place! The staff are very friendly and helpful. We had entered a trail run on the Sunday of our stay, and had to leave before 6am to get to the start. The staff ensured that there was an adequate pre-race breakfast in the kitchen for us and then allowed us to come back and shower after the race (after check-out time). They really went out of their way to make our stay fantastic! The quality of the accommodation, breakfasts, and even the advise was outstanding! I would recommend this guesthouse to everyone!!

Fine views and cozy hospitality
Sugarbird Manor impressed us with its amazing views over the vineyards and mountains. The personalized touch from the staff, and we especially enjoyed the delicious breakfast served on the terrace. Waking up to the sound of nature and having the good aroma of freshly prepared food was enchanting.
While our overall experience was good, the location felt a bit remote, requiring a 20-30 minute drive to reach nearby restaurants. Occasional noise from the upper-level rooms also disrupted the tranquility in our space.

Very friendly and helpful staff and a really beautiful location yet still very convenient for vehicle access to nearby amenities and Stellenbosch itself. Room and facilities excellent and the breakfasts were very good. A luxurious and tranquil experience which we would wholeheartedly recommend and the owner not only produces fine wine but is a very good source of information for the best vintages in the area.

gorgeous views, two swimming pools, honesty bar
A little fridge in the main house would enhance comfort!!! Carrying luggage from the parking area to the further cabins could use a cart!!! Dining options require pre-planning!!! Some rooms could benefit from improved ventilation!!!
